Temple Grandin, the most famous behavioural scholar in the USA and a person with autism, returns to the Romanian public with a special speech at the ABA International Conference '23, 12th Edition, on November 10th and 11th
Robert Schramm, Lauren K. Schnell, Mikey Keenan, Paul Gavoni and Katie Cook are just some of the international names in the field of applied behavioural analysis who will take the stage in Bucharest this year.
The 12th edition of the event brings on stage over 30 Romanian and international lecturers, experts in the field of applied behavioural analysis, who will address topics from all areas of applicability of behavioural analysis such as ABA in organizations, schools, development disorders, personal management, for parents of autistic children, in autism and in the vision of autistic people. A special talk will be delivered by Dr. Temple Grandin, who will talk both about her experience as a child with autism and the importance of early therapy.
Dr. Temple Grandin did not speak until the age of three and a half. She was fortunate to receive early speech therapy. Her teachers also taught her how to wait and participate when playing board games. She was integrated into a normal kindergarten at the age of five. Dr. Grandin has become a prominent author and speaker on both autism and animal behaviour. Today she is a professor of animal science at Colorado State University. Articles about Dr. Grandin have appeared in Time Magazine, New York Times, Discover Magazine, Forbes, and USA Today. HBO also produced a movie about her life, which was awarded an Emmy. Since 2016, Dr. Temple Grandin has been a member of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences.
ABA International Conference can be attended by students, parents and professionals in the field of ABA both from Romania and abroad. Moreover, Romanian professionals BCBA, BCaBA or those who have completed an in-depth course in applied behaviour analysis, and they can expose their work and vision to the public.
